10 Pre-Training Camp Concerns
Zo shares his remaining worries with camp just a week and a half away.
We’re almost there!
1. Health
Flag the shit out of this one, this should actually be 1 through 10. Honestly injuries are a concern with anytime but especially one where two of their big three have bionic knees and elbow, respectively.
2. Cohesion
Feeds from No. 1, obviously but these two are first for a reason — gotta be cohesive to have a real chance to win big, gotta be healthy and play a lot together to be cohesive.
3. Role adjustments
New or expanded roles for a lot of players on this team that will take some getting used to. Â
4. Getting to know one another
As people, individual players and teammates. Year No. 5 of a new roster post summer, that needs to be accounted for.Â
5. End of the honeymoon period
Maybe it happens after the first west coast trip, maybe after a brutal loss to the lowly Nets — but the vibes will be in question at some (or a few) point and it’ll be up to these guys to right the ship.
6. Coaching
Nick Nurse is a championship coach, has done a lot more with way less-talented rosters (see: that injury-stricken two-month stretch from last year) so I think I’m just putting this here as a placeholder rather than a real concern.Â
7. Stars aligning
Feeds into No. 6. This season, to me, will be so much more about the three stars making it work than it is what set Nurse calls.
8. Who takes the last shot?
Obviously Maxey. But everyone else needs to know that
9. DefenseÂ
Self-explanatory.
10. Height & Rebounding
Just two really big things where the Sixers are lacking but other than that I’m confident!
