A Friday Six-Pack of Questions for the Dreadful-Ass Sixers
Zo's got some frustrating answers for some depressing questions.
1. Will the Sixers win another game?
Warriors, Blazers, Wolves, Celtics up in the next 6 day span, if they don’t steal one from Portland their next great chance might have to wait until March 9th against Utah. Furthermore, if they miss on that one, I think we’re looking at a team that may seriously end up a few games short of a 30-win season.
2. Do you trust Daryl Morey to figure things out?
I guess that would depend on what one qualifies as figuring it out. I think Joel Embiid will remain a shell of his former self, now on a $240 million dollar deal, and trading or attempting to trade him this summer would almost certainly mean attaching assets (picks/Jared McCain :( /etc.) Sure, Paul George will be shopped and probably moved and to be honest, as much as it would be the biggest dart to my chest, I wouldn’t be shocked if they took a call or two for Tyrese Maxey.
I don’t remember the cupboard ever being this empty — and if you trusted Morey to get it down before then it's fair to continue trusting, but you may not necessarily like the eggs he uses to make the omelet this time around.
3. Out of all the possible outcomes, did you envision anything like this?
Not even close. I would of saw rocky start while the team learns to play together, injury-riddled first half of season but still middle of the pack, and even prolonged amount of time without Embiid but again, still manage middle of the pack, but this has been an absolute disaster and whatever other synonyms for disaster you want to use.
4. If Nick Nurse is on the hot seat, is there any way he can save his job?
I said it before and I’ll say it again, in cases like this, if you’re faced with more than likely having to run it back, the easiest change is the voice in the locker room. Sorry, Nick.
5. Have you found any bright spots in watching the team during this dreadful streak?
Quentin Grimes has played his ass off. He’s a guy who you just have to bring back. Not perfect but fits the mold of “a guy who can do something on both ends” way more than the old asses on the bench.
6. Advice to Sixers fans who still tune in for some reason?
Please don’t. Let us do that, you go enjoy your life, families and 40-degree temps.
