Does the NBA/NBA players this year seem to lack joy more broadly? Are the long seasons, international tournaments, constant pressure to make finals and win championships (being a solid playoff team is typically not enough for fans) crushing the spirits of the NBA players? Who outside of Curry do we think about being a joyous player. Maxey seemed to be joyful a couple of years ago but it seems like the pressure has impacted his spark.

At this point it shouldn’t be difficult to say Nurse should be fired. He’s not the right coach for this roster. He needs to go.

MOC is so right. I've always thought this team has been a basic b@#ch going back to Embiid's 1st year. You could blame it on a lot of environmental or external factors, but the common thread is a lack of continuity, a lack of maturity and a lack of mentality by the core player(s) to do all the things necessary to win a championship. This team is so soft and fragile because its key player is right now so mentally all over the place and physically fragile. It sucks but Embiid and the team is not going to win anything while he's suffering from depression and melancholy most of the time. I feel for the guy and it's a tough situation but gd, between Fultz and Simmons and Embiid, those are three "franchise" guys that have mentally been "broken" when it comes to playing in the NBA. This sucks.

Nurse should maybe be on the hot seat, and Morey definitely should be. This is his long term vision and plan come to fruition. Should be a real conversation about him and the front office, at a minimum

Nurse has the talent to support a quicker, more dynamic offense, but he's still force feeding everything through Embiid. If it's not that, we get tunnel vision Maxey over and over and over. Even when Joel sits, it looks like every shot PG gets is outside the flow of the offense and it's maddening to watch. In the big picture I don't know that any of this matters because Embiid's legs look cooked.
