The Cure - 'Songs Of A Lost World' & The Paradox 'Do Me Like That'
Also, rock's not dead with our young people yet.
I saw The Cure at the Spectrum when I was a teenager, in what was supposed to be their final tour. In September of 1989 The Prayer Tour hit Philly, as the band was doing shows in support of what I felt like at the time was their best album, Disintegration (I mean I was like 13 what did I know, but still).
35 years later, and 50 years into the band’s existence, they released Songs Of A Lost World, an album I now consider to likely be their best. Seems impossible, but they did it.
On this episode of The Carl Landry Record Club we talked about The Cure’s album and achievement, as well as a new band of teenagers that call themselves The Paradox, who are showing kids are still picking up guitars.
