One Sixers Thought and Five Big Reasons the Birds Will Get It Done This Weekend
Zo on Joel Embiid and this season -- what’s left of it at least.
Fair or not — but mostly fair — I think by the time June hits, Jo will have seen his very last mulligan in this city. Fans, some of Team Ricky and even people who once found themselves as the staunchest of Embiid defenders are just tired and sad and angry and sick of being tired and sad and angry. It really does stink, but it can’t be undersold just how important next season will be for Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Paul George.
OK, showtime: My five big reasons why the Birds will cook early and often Sunday on their way to a Super Bowl birth.
1. Jalen Hurts will do enough
Notice I’m not saying he’ll throw for 300 and rush for 50 more, because I’m genuinely not sure that’s ever going to happen again and I’m pretty sure he’ll be playing on a busted up knee. But I just know, whatever it is he ends up doing, he’ll do just enough of it to get the job done.
2. Jalen Carter
Yeah man, holy shit, Breadman is on an unreal run and I don’t see it stopping.
3. The Defense in General
Nasty taste in their mouth from last month’s game and I’m here for it.
4. Home Cooking
Come on man, it’s the Linc in late January, enough said.
5. Saquon, Saquon, Saquon, Saquon, Saquon
Think that covers it.
