Spurs vs Knicks would be a far more interesting series. OKC's methodical optimized version of hard to watch basketball is just not compelling enough to root for them to advance and inevitably and efficiently sweep the Knicks.
In fairness, many of us working class Knicks fans do not deserve the ire. We were the ones who suffered through Isiah Thomas. The ones who asked exactly why the organization was able to get Stephon Marbury for pennies on the dollar. The pointless LeBron flirtations. The repeated squandered lottery picks. The Melo isos, dwarfed only by Phil Jackson's catty comments about them. Eddy Curry. Jared Jeffries. The most embarrassing sex scandal in NYC sports history. Having the worst owner in sports, who is currently inviting our boy idiot president to the Garden to ruin any and all vibes.
Boo this organization, yes. Boo the phony, flimsy legacy, the unearned social superiority, JD and the Straight Shots. Boo all that. I think the regular fans deserve a reprieve.
