Hang Out With Us Thursday Night at Stateside, An In-Person Ricky

We needed a place to do the podcast. We found one.

Mike is in town this weekend for one of his 23 nephews Bar Mitzvahs, so we decided to do a podcast in person. Not counting Live Ricky events, there have probably been fewer than ten of these in the decade-plus we’ve been doing the Ricky.

We’re doing a podcast after Thursday night’s game against the Knicks, and we needed a place to do the pod. Thanks to Stateside, we’ve got one.

We’ll do the pod from the Stateside Vodka bar at 1700 N. Hancock Street in Fishtown after the game. We’ll probably start about a half hour or so after the game ends. Maybe sooner! Maybe a little bit later if CJ has trouble setting up the equipment (producer). If you’re free and in the area, we’d love to say hello.

This is not an official Live Ricky, as we’ve got a small setup, and depending on how it sounds you might just have to sit quietly and listen to us talk without amplification (we did this once in a hotel hallway in Minneapolis). We’re hoping to use the PA in there but who knows. Also, the Stateside bar usually closes at 10pm, so a big thanks Mike to the skeleton crew that is staying late just to accommodate us.

CJ is definitely going to come. Of course there might be appearances from other members of Team Ricky. All I can guarantee is that Mike, CJ and I will be there, and we’re happy to take as many sweaty cell phone pics as you want. Obviously you can register your vote in person on dunks and guitar solos and whether you skip the Chip Mitchell emails.

Would be great to see everyone. Let’s hope they beat the fucking Knicks.
