My question:

Does Joel Embiid get a free pass from the fans for the Boston series? From what I’ve seen, most of the fan base blames Harden for Games 6 and 7, forgetting that he won us two games earlier in the series. Meanwhile, Joel had no signature performances - and it’s not the first big series where that’s been the case.

In Games 6 and 7, it felt like he quit. I remember watching Game 7 thinking, This is do-or-die , get going. But the urgency never came. First quarter... nothing. Second quarter... still waiting. Third quarter... just hoping he’d flip the switch. Even in the fourth, it never looked like he was giving it everything he had.

He did have that huge brace on his knee, but I think he was expecting Harden to do something in both 6 & 7. Game 6 final quarter was just like watching them run out the clock, there seemed to be no initiative or urgency.

Game 7 they lost before it even began.

Gun to his head, can Mike, without warming up, make at least 40 out of 50 free throw attempts to save his life? And this is with someone standing in front of him, aiming the gun at his face as he shoots.

Joel only fell to us in the 2014 draft because people feared his injury history in the NBA would be *worse* than it has been—if the Cavs or Bucks had a crystal ball and could see what he’d become, injuries and all, he clearly goes top two.

(Let’s put Jokic aside, because that was an unknown quantity, not a quantity specifically passed on due to injury.)

Given that we only got Joel because of the injury risk, which hasn’t turned out as bad as feared, am I crazy for being pretty blasé about the fact that he’s likely cooked now, 12 years later? If he was a super durable player, we wouldn’t have had him to begin with! You can’t take the player who slips because of injuries and then get upset when he is injured …

Non basketball question what’s your favorite movie franchise?

The ‘76ers were truly terrible for several seasons, winning a total of 47 games in 2013-16. As of right now, was that suffering worth it?

Do you remember any other names you had in mind when naming the podcast at the time?

I will be attending my first live concert soon (Smashing Pumpkins and/or My Chemical Romance). I’m in my early 30s, above-average in height, and the venue is an indoor arena. Would you recommend VIP standing or VIP seated? And what’s your best and your worst experience watching a band perform live in a sold-out crowd? I honestly don’t know what to expect.

Thank you!
