YOU ARE THE BEST
For me, every single one of these events goes through the same cycle. Can't wait to do it, oh no, we have to do it, I'm never doing this again, this is amazing, when are we doing it again? I'm looking for an emotional support group that deals with these sorts of things.
I can't tell you how special all of this is. In the history of sports, you just won't seem anything like it. There are groups of fans that are bigger than this, but there is no one like this. Every player who has ever been to one of these events knows it, Brett Brown knows it, we all know it. As AU wrote after last year's show with Dario, "The Golden State Warriors may have three championships, a starting five consisting entirely of All-Stars, and nothing but further joy and prosperity on the horizon. But they’ve never played the fucking Factory."
It wasn't just me and Mike playing The Franklin Music Hall (Electric Factory in hour hearts), it was all of us. We all did this together. For six years we've done this together, and we're still here. Just like we talked about Brett Brown making it through this six year period being unlike anything ever, so is what we have.
A thank you to our incredible sponsors who make it possible for us to put all of these things together, everyone behind the scenes who worked to make it happen (there are more than you think), Mike Scott, Brett Brown, and the Sixers, who once ignored us for over two years because of the billboard, have now truly become supportive and understanding of what your fandom means to them (we're still going to talk shit when we need to), and of course to you, who listen to two guys pretend to talk about Sixers basketball twice a week when they're actually talking about themselves. Thanks for being so kind to our charities Providence Animal Center and Coded By Kids, who had a great time last night.
We wouldn't trade it for anything. See you in Indy on New Year's Eve with TJ?
Love you for real,
Spike (sentiments echoed by Mike, AU and Kristen)
