The Opening Tip
Hello & Happy Almost Weekend - It's the Corner Three!
Oh Yeah, The Sixers
Well...Here We Go Again
So they're actually going to do this, The Sixers are going to attempt to pause the circus and play basketball that counts tonight. They literally, like as of yesterday, welcomed back a guy who was away from the team for 10 days but showed up with bags packed for the road trip, and told his dumbass to stay home and "ramp-up" aka maybe the Clippers get serious in the next few days or the Bulls have to call another players only meeting or the Lakers go 0-2 and LeGM says go get Uno.
Either way - Basketball is my 1 and 1A so I'm ecstatic it's back so here's the top 10 things I'm excited about/interested in this year from the league and Sixers.

Spike's Corner... Sixers Adam Is A Traitor
Every week Spike or Mike will give you something that's on their mind. It's Spike's week, and he's writing about the departure of Sixers Adam.
I nailed you with that headline, didn't I? Yes, I did it for clicks.
In any case, as he announced earlier this week, Sixers Adam has left Team Ricky. He is, as I see, the first person to ever officially to do so.
I will never forget the first time we had Daryl Morey on the pod, when he was President of The Rockets and not at all considering his next move to the Sixers. We off hand, mentioned one of our writers. It somehow led to describing the number of people on the staff, and he was just fucking puzzled. Why would a Sixers podcast have three writers, an artist, a newsletter guy, and a producer?
The answer is, "so we can be better." The Ricky community is a large one, with all different sorts of weirdos. So Team Ricky should have all different sorts of weirdos, so we are reflective of who we represent.
Sixers Adam, is an enormous weirdo. We brought him aboard when he was 17 years old, and were able to watch him grow and evolve (while Mike and I simply just got older). Adam became a real boy. On some level when we hired him it was just neat that a high schooler could form complete sentences. Now, he's a real writer, with a perspective, a great work ethic, and a real job. It's pretty wild.
I don't actually know much about writing, so it was a fun process trying to help Adam get better by learning myself what was good and what wasn't.
I do not approve of anyone leaving The Ricky. I do not approve of any current staff leaving. But I am very happy for Adam, who will leave a skinny, weird hole in the Ricky roster. I will eventually forgive him for this.
I will not have time to read his work at his new venture, as I am taking care of my mother in Houston, and then spending 10 days ramping up. But I'm rather certain he'll do a great job.
Peace, Love and Process They're Back :)
