Hello & Happy Almost Weekend - It's the Corner Three!
Finally, Live Ricky V is coming to YouTube. We'll do a premiere at 11am on Saturday, thanks to MortgageCS. It'll be one of those special "YouTube premieres" where the chat will be live (Spike and CJ will be there watching), so you can watch it leading up to Sixers vs. Nets Game 1.
You'll see the BBall Paul interview, the Kate Scott surprise, Eliza and Charlie perform Imagine (The Process), Prezz Carter performer Coaches Become Sales Reps, an extended version of the Trevelin Queen song from Mutlu, Process Hall of Fame inductions, measuring CJ, everything. Oh Yeah, The Sixers
A Word..
Regularly scheduled writing will return next week but as we speed closer and closer to another chapter of this thing, I wanted to add some perspective.
This season for all intents and purposes, truly came in went almost in 4’s, front loaded by a World Series and Super Bowl appearance. This team, this front office, this (presumably) MVP, just feels different this year.
I know they have a daunting task and a really tough road after the first round but isn’t that the Sixer way anyway? Did we truly expect anything otherwise? I know what Boston is, I know what Milwaukee is and I respect the hell out of each but man do I feel like the job gets done this year.
If you asked me for a blueprint I couldn’t provide it. I would just tell you to start with a 7’2 Cameroonian and let’s take it from there. It’s ok to be optimistic. Let’s go get one.

SPIKE'S CORNER... THANK YOU
New to the Corner Three Newsletter: every week Spike or Mike will write a section, aptly titled Spike's Corner or Mike's Corner. It's Spike's turn today, and he's writing about Live Ricky V.
I thought about writing about the MVP one final time, and JJ Redick's cowardly decision to vote for Giannis, but I handled that in probably the longest solo segment in Ricky history last night.
Instead, I just wanted to say thank you. There are a million people with sports podcasts, but only one who would pack a concert venue on Easter night (shout out Jesus), and cheer as I induct one of our own podcasts into our own Hall of Fame while suggesting the vote may have been rigged and the true inductee should have been a hoagie-mouthed terrorist who kidnapped our producer. Not to mention, having sold the venue out in record time.
There are a lot of perceptions of our little community across the country, and most of them are bad. Everyone thinks we're fucking lunatics. And they're right, but it's the good kind.
One thing Rich from Underground Arts said to me the day after the show was how much the staff enjoyed the event, because the crowd was so cool. A group of incredibly kind weirdos, gathering together before the playoffs begin and we're inevitably frustrated to remind ourselves that we do this to have a good time.
I am so remarkably proud of what we've been a part of, but most proud because we've done it with you. I'm not sure I'll have proper perspective until it's all over (in 2034 or so), but it's been one of the most significant things in my life.
Also fuck JJ Redick. What a dick.
