Chasing '01
This feels...somewhat familiar. I've been kicking this thought back and forth for some time and decided that the ingredients are atleast in place for this team to mirror alot of what that team did in relation to regular season and more importantly playoff success. Mainly, a front office willing to take some big swings and a roster built around a sincere MVP candidate. And lastly, winning games the easy way and ugly way.
The "tests" for this year's team have unfortunately been far and few in between due to Covid-19 restrictions and protocols for the good guys and their opponents but still, all credit due for beating who they are supposed to beat and often times, handily. There's so much more basketball left and one very big trade deadline looming but I'm excited about the trajectory of this team and confident in it's leadership so you should be as well.Â
(Sorry, Free Brad Beal is over because he apparently wants to stay in DC. You have our number when you want to get your shit together, Brad)
Road Ahead
2 games up in the East, and a HUGE Saturday night showdown looming with the Nets and a showdown with a couple of Western Conference heavies in Utah and Phoenix in the next 10 or so days. Doc Rivers, NBA Coach of the Month for January, has his team playing confident and hard and admittedly not even close to hitting its peak. Should be a fun few weeks leading up to the end of the first half of the season.

Zoned Out! The Sixers run a 2-3 zone (RIP John Chaney) in the Dan Burke Revenge Game, Tobi stock is at an all time high and Spike and Mike mull a return of our favorite human trafficking witness.
The Rest From The Best
A whole lot has gone right for the Sixers in their surging to the top of the Eastern Conference. Sixers Adam has three very important stats that also help tell the tale so far.Â
Although they did pull out (ironically) one of their best wins of the season without him, the Sixers historically are fucking putrid without Joel Embiid. The Always awesome Mike O'Connor offers some help in how they can be a much improved team when the big fella sits.Â
I mostly erased all of last season from memory so like everyone else I had no immediate recollection of last year's team being the exact same 15-6 record (WTF) and even ended up 20-7 LOL. Team Ricky historian Andrew Unterberger did the dirty work and has all the wild ass details.Â
Peace, Love and Process
Be good, read a book and Go Chiefs
