In what honestly felt like the first time in a month, the Sixers finally dressed more than 7 players and it couldn't have come at a better time, with our good friends from Boston in town for game 1 of a two game series.

Joel Embiid

MVP MVP MVP MVP. Literally running out of superlatives, man. The big fella is averaging 25 and 11 and handed the Theis/Thompson combo a calm 42 and 10 last night. He's doing the usual, any and everything he can for this team and they need all of it. I don't have any bold claims or trade requests, I just hope that they do whatever due diligence to put the very best team possible around him. 

Tobias Harris 

Not up for Eastern Conference player of the week recently but Tobi has settled in nicely, isn't doing too much and looks 10x more comfortable than he did at the start of the season. They'll need this version and even more as the season moves forward and into the playoffs but props to him for righting the ship for now.

Shake Milton

The next time he misses a shot will be the first time. He's gaining confidence by the day and is only going to get better. He had a mixed bag of a bubble but stayed the course and is showing all of us what his teammates have been raving about. His development and the huge leap to 6th man will undoubtedly be one of the biggest storylines for the Sixers the rest of the season.

The Young Guns

The Maxey and Joe show. They each continue to impress and come up big at times and were absolutely terrific during the the 10 day span where the team was down half its roster due to Covid protocols. If last night was any indication, Joe will unfortunately lose some minutes to Matisse Thybulle but I can't imagine Doc Rivers and Co. not wanting to get some more live action looks at the young sharp shooter.

0/0/0 - 0/0/0 - ZERO, ZERO, ZERO in 21 minutes. I don't have a bold proclamation or anything crazy to say about him, but on a team with a championship mandate and aspirations, you just can't have that, seriously. I hope he's able to get right but as you get into the playoffs and rotations start to tighten and shorten, I can't see him making the cut.

The Rest From The Best

So...they missed out on Harden but all is not lost (we hope?) Sixers Adam helps us pivot to 4 more possible targets for Morey and crew as they look to make possible roster upgrades. 

The Sixers will most likely find themselves bidding against multiple teams in trying to trade for the services of a few more big time playmakers, so while the price most likely will go up (!!!) Andrew Unterberger reminds us that there's certainly some tools in the cupboard to help accommodate.
