The Opening Tip
Hello and Happy Thursday, it's the Corner Three!
They had him (maybe? we think? they were in the lead?) then just like that, he was gone)
*sigh* Let's Roll!
Oh Yeah,The Sixers
What a fucking 10 day span for this team. Get well soon to Seth Curry and VP and the rest of the guys making their way through Covid protocols.
Harden
MOTHERFUCK ME, man, I can not believe it. Well he finally got traded to an Eastern Conference contender, but not the one we love to yell at every other night. Things between Harden and his now former Rockets teammates and coach got even more unsettling after a testy post game press conference Tuesday night and the efforts to oblige his demand to leave H-town went into warp speed, with the Nets & Sixers front offices dueling it out. Despite up to the minute reports that the Sixers were in the driver seat and favorite to (finally) land a championship running mate for MVP Jo, the Nets and their tacos from Birria Landia swooped in and got it done.
So what does this mean for the Sixers? Simply put, the already tough road to the O'Brien trophy just got way tougher. The Nets were a problem before Harden, Boston will certainly have something to say, the Bucks are still there and the defending East Champ Miami Heat of course, regardless of how you feel abut their bubble run, they definitely showed that they can string it together when it counts. The Sixers still run alot of Brett Brown era plays, still depend on Joel Embiid for so much on both ends of the floor and barring a trade, still don't have a number 1 perimeter option without Tyrese Maxey and/or Shake Milton (and Ben Simmons for that matter) making milkyway-sized leaps between now and May.
Frankly, this trade unfortunately left more questions for a team that needs to capitalize on its best player having an MVP start to the season. They will win a bunch of games in the regular season but as currently constituted don't present any kind of trouble for teams that will inevitably decide to double the big fella all game and see if his supporting cast has the collective balls to make them pay.
Still a ways to go before the trade deadline and while I don't expect Daryl Morey to sit on his hands, I can't imagine there'll be another James Harden to be had by March.
The Schedule
I don't have much to say because honestly they shouldn't have even had to play these past three games, given the fact that they were extremely short handed and other teams had their games postponed. Thank you Adam Silver for putting your hate and disdain for the Sixers on display for the entire world you slime bucket.

This Week In The Pod
There's a new one tonight. STAY TUNED.
The Maxey game. He's so great, and he's ours. Spike and Mike also dish on NBA protocols and, brace yourself, point guard Danny Green (lol). Enjoy!
Wouldn't be a Sixers season if there wasn't a discussion about Embiid's workload. Also for your listening, and viewing (!!) pleasure, Current Simmons vs Prime Iggy, and Our Birds? Tanking? Sure, what the hell.
