The Opening Tip
Hello and Happy Thursday, it's the Corner Three!
Happy Thanksgiving!!
I'm thankful for all of you, your readership and the 10 minutes you give me each week. I hope we ease into holiday season happy and healthy and end the year better than we started.
Let's get going!
This Week In The Pod
2,000 YouTube subscribers!! The road to 3,000 begins. You can watch the Ricky full shows, and then we pull clips just about every day. Subscribe here.
It's a Thanksgiving pod where Mike mourns the loss of Zhaire Smith, the guys talk about potential Lou Williams trade, then go down a hilarious road of former Sixers like Kapono, Ruland, McDaniels, and more with Dave Rueter. Get Dave's book A Sixers Odyssey here.
Morey pulled our collective card and immediately tested us by going out and grabbing Dwight Howard, of the Dwight Howard fame. Spike and Mike talk about the signing, the rest of free agency and what the starting lineup might/should look like.
The newest Carl Landry Record Club podcast talked about albums from Hanson (??), D'Angelo, and Life Without Buildings.
BLACK FRIDAY NEW T-SHIRT SALE
The annual Black Friday Ricky merch sale is happening. Starting at midnight Thursday night and going all the way until 11:59pm on Black Friday, all the shirts are 25% off their already cheap price. And there are FOUR new ones, as you can see below. We've got "The Shirt" in old-school Rockets colors, "The City Line Series" which is an ode to a true Philly basketball landmark (find the Easter eggs), "WWDD - Just Riffin', Baby," which is self-explanatory, and then for the die-hards, a two-sided "Stay Free My Goose" shirt with the Carl Landry Record Club logo on the back. They will all be right HERE at midnight.
Oh Yeah,The Sixers (Thanksgiving Edition)
What I'm Thankful for
Daryl Morey
It took him 3 weeks to undo and reverse so much that was hastily done in 16 months. Early on, his moves give you the idea that he wants to give his two young stars the absolute best supporting cast he can before deciding that they need to be broken up. I think what we have now is probably what opening night will look like in terms of a roster (save for a Terrance Ferguson or Mike Scott trade for another ballhandler) but I think that's fine! Morey is on record saying that he doesn't think the roster needs to be perfect by season start so I'm on board and agree with the wait and see approach and taking a swing at a big name or two that possibly becomes available around trade deadline time.
Ben Simmons & Joel Embiid
They are imperfect, as a unit and as individual players but nonetheless they are ours for the foreseeable future (unless Harden/Beal really become available atleast). I want them to win together so bad, not a few big games, I want them to win the whole damn thing together. It will be tough and will take so much to go right and some sacrifice from both players but I truly do want to see them win together and hope they succeed enough for the front office to pour all they have into the cast surrounding them.
Marial Shyok
The greatest slow basketball player I've ever seen outside of myself. Will miss you my guy.
Sam Hinkie
Come on now.
Zu & Alaa
Hold on partner, we're coming in for a landing.
Sixers Multimedia/Graphics Team
Such a down to earth, helpful, welcoming and talented group of people who kicked ass before and after the bubble and haven't skipped a beat. Excited to see what the new season holds for them.
Dana Barros
Really enough said.

The holidays are here, and there's a chance you may need to sit back in the big chair with a drink, and that drink should include Stateside Vodka. No gluten, no sugar, no carbs, certified Kosher, distilled seven times and made right here in the city of brotherly love. You can get Stateside Vodka at their website, get it delivered anywhere in PA, or just go to your local liquor store and pick up a bottle. You better be at least 21, and you better be enjoying responsibly.
The Rest From The Best
The lid is off on this shortened and whirlwind offseason and Morey is taking no prisoners. Mike O'Connor expertly breaks down a fucking awesome draft night for the Sixers and what the new faces hope to bring. Brought to you by our official pet food, By Nature Slow Cooked with Superfusion Pet Food (use code RTRS20 at Chewy).
Trades are cool, but let's remember why the Sixers had to do any of this in the first place and hope this is just part of the larger Morey plan. Andrew Unterberger has some commentary on a fast-paced draft day and why maybe we should take the wait and see approach for a bit. Brought to you by Kinetic Skateboarding.
Free agency was chaotic as hell and complete with twists and turns and still going!! Our guy Sixers Adam has a ridiculous, comprehensive free agency guide to help you follow along with the madness. Brought to you by Adam Ksebe, the Process Realtor.
Peace, Love and Process
Enjoy, the holiday weekend, stay away from large gatherings, and check on your friends.
