[01.07.17] Sixers Say Farewell Hollis, Ben Simmons' Return, And #NBAVOTE Joel Embiid
Electing Embiid and Retweet Armageddon Congress members, farewelling Hollis, and trading for Jimmy Butler.
It was a very sad day for The Process, as Hollis Thompson was released this week. We reflect on the career of the most Process player (arguably) of the Process era.
We also discuss Joel Embiid's All-Star bid, TJ McConnell's starting spot, if we'd trade Ben Simmons for Jimmy Butler, the wins over the Wolves and the Nuggets, the Joel-Noel pairing, Ben Simmons' potential return, and announce the finalists for the listener spots in the Retweet Armageddon Congress.
For the listing of the candidates and your chance to vote for the in-town and out-of-town candidate (once per day), scroll down in this post below the podcast.
Also, if you're going on Bus The Process 2, click here for instructions, and click here to buy tickets. If you're not going on the trip, but want to say farewell while we salute Hollis Thompson, join us at XFINITY Live! from 1pm till 3pm on 1/14.

IN TOWN RETWEET ARMAGEDDON CONGRESS CANDIDATES (scroll down for poll)
1. Rob McNamara - Mt. Airy (@rmcnamara86)
I'm a high school English teacher, basketball coach, philosophy major, and process truster who believes that comparisons of Embiid to Hakeem aren't fair to Jojo because the Dream couldn't shoot threes.
2. Ryan Crenny - Newtown Square (@nooksandcrennys)
I once licked someone's face for an entire day.
3. Anik Jhonsa - Moorestown, NJ (@avj1083)
I'm a child psychiatrist who has done 9 years of post-college training and nothing is more insane to me than anti-process people like Marcus Hayes. I can get in their heads to figure out when a Retweet Armageddon would most annoy them.Â
4. Walt Meredith - Philadelphia (@WMeredith12)
I've been listening to the Ricky since day 1. I was the first Ricky listener to buy a ring from LL and get engaged. The night I proposed I was wearing the 2nd lottery party shirt (trust the process one). Most importantly I love the Sixers and can't stand the haters.
5. Will Tanzola - Mullica Hill, NJ (@tanz522)
Taught Romanian orphans to say Trust The Process (see the video).
OUT OF TOWN RETWEET ARMAGEDDON CANDIDATES (scroll down for poll)
1. Charles Law - Cape Cod, MA (@ChalielawIII)
Been listening since 2013 when it sounded like Mike was in a Drexel Hill basement talking through a pillow. Plus, the congress needs a military member.Â
2. Patrick McCusker - NY, NY (No Twitter. Salute!)
Swear to god, Hollis Thompson hit on my girlfriend during my sophomore year at Georgetown. Also I voted for Lickface as student government VP in the election featuring the Hollis rap.Â
3. Brett Ling - Perth, Australia (@Brett_Ling_)
Two years ago I drove two hours south of Perth to watch Melbourne United play my home town Wildcats in a preseason game; not to see my team play, but to get an early look at 2nd round Sixers stash Jordan McRae. He missed about 10 contested jump shots and played like crap but I wouldn't change a thing.Â
4. John Wintermute - NY, NY (@johnwintertweet)
The role of the Process and RTRS community in my life is one of the most defining and least explainable things about me. The fact that I am married with a solid job is a minor miracle. That makes me JAG when it comes to Process-trusters -- I'm no better or worse a candidate than most others that will apply (though I'd argue that'd be a good criterion for the Fan Representative). That fact is mind-blowing and a direct result of this crazy, stupid thing you guys have done. Regardless of who you pick, I mainly wanted to use this forum to thank you guys. Life is about human beings connecting with each other, and I'll be damned if you didn't find one of the weirdest ways for us all to do it.Â
5. Elias Dupuis - Dominica (@SuperDupes365)
* Sixers fan since 2000
* Have suffered the slings and arrows of outrageous misery and ridicule as a Sixers fan
* Currently the only Process Truster on my entire island
* Have missed only 3 Process Sixers game
* I would be the Casper Ware of the Armageddon Congress.Â
