You’re a gift, AU. I turned 40 last year, and it’s nice knowing a lot of my weird little irks and nerves about life are a shared experience, alongside the wonderful gifts we get here.
Happy belated birthday. My 45th was yesterday. June is the best month to have a birthday in as far as I can tell. So much in here is relatable. Winter sucks and I get why older people move south even if there are alligators down there eating people. I do think if you are aware enough to know that you may not be wanted in a conversation your probably way ahead of the curve in the department. The NYT had an article a few years ago that basically said most of us suck at knowing both when we are talking too much. Can't edit conversations in real time.
Its not for everyone but my own fear of death has been lessened by going to Church more and taking my time to work through the Bible with others and also on my own. It helped that both my father-in-law, my own father, and even a lady that runs a bed and breakfast we go to every year all seemed to sense my anxiety 5 or 7 years ago and in conversation mentioned each in their own way not being afraid of death. I can't say I'm not afraid of it but I've come to better terms with it.
As far as not being in on the latest pop culture trends...that just makes me more appreciative of the window of time we got to live in.
