Discussion on this was interesting. If moving the line out is going to result in more crowded space - and if more open space results in more entertaining basketball, why don't they just make the court bigger (and keep the 3 pt line and hoop height the same)? If we take a step back, it's insane to think that a game involving 10 giants takes place in a space that is 33% smaller than the area of the 18-yard (penalty) box of a soccer field.
It's an interesting question but I think the biggest issue is that one of the reasons players are getting injured more is that defensively they need to cover so much space. This would force them to cover more.
If they're getting injured because they're covering so much space, they clearly need to be adding drops of e-lyte and ReMineralize into their smoothies
