Great interview! A question I have is how does a GM plan for year 4 of Paul George? You have to give him the big bucks and four years but you also have to think the “best deal” of that contract is years one and two rather than three and four. Assuming no trades of George, Maxey, and Embiid, those are your three highest paid players four years from now. Sure, “hope for minimal falloff” but assuming that’s your plan A, what’s a possible plan B? Is there one? Since I can’t get Daryl’s response to that question, I’d be happy to hear the thoughts of anyone on the RTRS team.

I always love the portion of each Daryl pod (usually in the last 15 min) where Daryl starts to really get on Mike's nerves and Daryl just keeps on tweaking him more and more.

Haryl's story at the 35-minute mark (YT version) is hilarious. "And for me, sacrifice is shooting more." Daryl obviously wasn't talking about Embiid, but this statement is almost perfect for Embiid on many levels. He always says he wants others to shoot when they're open, but because he's aware of advanced metrics and how he is probably more efficient at scoring -- on the floor, he demands the ball and "sacrifices" by "shooting more."

I was hoping you'd ask if the series loss to the Knicks was actually a deliberate tank job to maintain flexibility of BBall Paul's contract?! A real commitment to the cap space plan!

Also it occured to me during that section that you have a podcast host called Mike, shouldn't his nickname be Microphone Mike?
