The Opening Tip
Hello & Happy Almost Weekend - It's the Corner Three!
Don't Miss This Shirt
The Tribe Called Quest inspired shirt below will never be for sale. NEVER. The only way to get it is to join our team for Providence Animal Center's Bark In The Park 5K and raise $50. The event is October 21st at Rose Tree Park in Media.
Do you have to run the 5K? No. Do you have to walk it? No. Just show up, say hi to Spike, and pet some dogs and get your shirt.
Help us get to our goal of 100 team members (we're at 21) and $15,000 raised (we're at $3,619). The homeless animals need us.
Oh Yeah, The Sixers
LOL. I wonder what it's like to have your biggest worry about your favorite basketball team be their health and how many back to backs they have in January. A guy can dream. Anywho, SGA and Jalen Brunson were still on the board when the Sixers GM braintrust picked then immediately traded Mikal Bridges, and later drafted Landry Shamet in 2018.
This Week's Top 10! (Guys Who Should Be/Should Have Been/Should Still Be Sixers)
10. Nerlens Noel
09. Cam Johnson
08. Isaiah Joe
07. Norm Powell
06. Devin Booker
05. Jimmy Butler
04. Jordan Clarkson
03. Paul George
02. Lavoy Allen (said what I said)
01. Kawhi Leonard
Spike's Corner... Put Your Phone Down For Like Five Seconds Will You?
Every week Spike or Mike will give you something that's on their mind. It's Spike's week, and he's talking about cell phones in movie theatres.
Looking at your phone in a movie theatre once the film has started, even for five seconds, is disrespectful childish behavior. If you do this, you should take some time and reassess how you act in public and how you are perceived by others.
I know it's a different world now than it used to be. I am not stuck in tradition or how things were when I was a kid. However, using your phone in any way during a movie is still considered unacceptable, unwanted, immoral behavior?
Don't believe me? Perhaps you missed the seventy five requests on the screen from the AMC on the screen (shout out Adam Aron) to put your phone away and not use it during the film. If you didn't see that warning, maybe you heard me, a couple of rows away from you, grumbling under my breath about what a piece of shit you are.
Want to sit and scroll on Instagram while the movie is going, and everyone else is trying to pay attention to the screen? Totally fine, do it at home. Phone is buzzing, and it's the babysitter? You're afraid something might be wrong? I get it. Leave the auditorium and deal with it outside the doors.
Yes, we can just look at the screen if someone else is using their phone. But the tickets are like $15 each, the popcorn is about $10, I'm trying to have a nice night out and watch Oppenheimer again and the light from your phone is distracting.
As a people, we need to embrace civility and respect for each other. We need to keep our dogs on leashes. We need to hold the door for the person right behind you. We need to refrain from opting into our contracts with teams that we do not want to play for. We need to stop treating getting off of an airplane like we're lining up to get to the front of the stage at Ozzfest. We need to sign at least one player on our professional basketball team who can beat me in a race. And we need to put our phones away at the movies.
Shout out Nicole Kidman.
